11:51 am - I'm definitely from the Great Plains... and this proves it... and I'm proud of it!
What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

The West
The Inland North
The South
North Central
The Northeast

Ok, tagged by betabarrel.

I. Name 5 things you like most (with a brief commentary):

1. For those of you who know me best... it's not hard to imagine that cute things are on the top of my list. ;-) As odd as this may be, but seeing cute things brings me great joy - especially little children! Andrew says that every time I see another cute thing, my face lights up with joy. :-)

2. Spending quality time with people I love. I love being with friends and making new ones, and deepening my relationships with them! You're right Jess, friends do have top priority! :-)

3. Having great discussions/conversations with people, especially digging deep into in-depth topics. I love hearing what other people have to say - it's a great way to learn new things and have a different perspective on something! I sometimes feel I can be more educated this way on certain things more so than in a classroom.

4. Nature. I love watching thunderstorms, mountains, the ocean, the great plains of the midwest, seeing the beauty every season of the year brings, etc. I more especially love being in and around nature - especially while hiking. The only downside on this is bugs. I really do not like bugs. However, bugs are a part of nature and are therefore just about everywhere you go, so I better find a way to build up more tolerance for them!

5. Saving the best for last... Andrew. I like him a lot. :-) I love spending time with him, whether we're acting stupid and crazy or cuddling. I love talking with him, even if we're miles apart... there is still that connection between us, which I experience with no one else. He's just one heck of a great guy! :-)

II. Now, tag 5 people whom you want to take this poll:

Intersting... seems kind of backwards in a way. But nevertheless, I still think pursuing adoption is the place for me... ;)

You scored as Biology. You should be a Biology major! You are passionate about the sciences, and you enjoy studying cell growth and evolutionary concepts which enable living organisms to survive. Pursue that!

Many exciting things to celebrate!

1) Half way done with finals
2) Go home this Friday!
4) Andrew comes down to St. Louis on the 28th! Then we drive up to KC to see Adam and Rachel get married... this is still something I have to make myself believe is actually happening - but is still very exciting at the same time!
5) 2006 (year I finally graduate! - and realize I have no idea what I'm doing with the rest of my life!) :P
6) I just got a plane ticket to go to North Carolina for a week during break - yay for North Carolina (and wonderful people there too!) ;)
7) Only ONE semester left of college! Exciting, but crazy at the same time...

It is hard to believe I am giddy with excitement when I have loads to do still for finals... Oh well, it's almost over! :D

You Are A: Duckling!

DucklingThe cutest of the cute, these baby ducks are often spotted in the spring following closely behind their mother. As a duckling you will grow up quickly, becoming one of the adult ducks seen commonly in ponds and streams. Playful and timid, charming and vulnerable, ducklings are nature's very definition of innocence.

You were almost a: Frog or a Chipmunk
You are least like a: Turtle or a GroundhogWhat Cute Animal Are You?

I'm a DUCKLING? :S I don't really know what to think about that...

How can so much happen within just a few days? I feel like my whole world has been turned upside down...I've never felt so gosh darn lost and confused. So many things are uncertain and that makes me uneasy to say the least. Personal relationships have not been going the greatest lately either, which just makes me feel numb all over. And of course, there's my future...what am I going to do and where am I going to be in just one year - or less??? I just feel icky and numb right now. I don't want to go into all the details about everything (if you must know, you can contact me and we'll chat), but for right now anyway, I would greatly appreciate any of your prayers - just pray that I find peace. Thank you everybody...I pray everyone is doing well (especially to those I have not talked to in a while - I'm sorry!)...

3:19 pm - Good Friday
I had quite the long sleep last night - but I feel SO refreshed now after it, especially after my long night last night! I had more fun last night than I've had in a long time - it was quite an eventful night to say the least, or at least it felt that way! The night started off with the big Central High School's first football game of the year against Northwest (?). Libby and I were planning on going to that, but wanted to grab some dinner beforehand, which made us miss a little of the first half - which ended up being costly. Once we got there, the game was sold out. Seriously folks, you should have seen the place, it was chaos! First of all, the new stadium is huge, and it was overflowing with people, and there were people scaling the fence trying to get in! Libby and I ended up watching the game from outside the fence - what we could see anyway (not much), but it was still cool. Oh, and we were both reminded of the fact during halftime (by the refs) that we most definitely do not look like we should be seniors in college, but that we instead look like 16 year olds. Gee, haven't heard that one before. :S So all in all, that experience wasn't that bad - except for being almost knocked down by the scaling people on the fence and being hit on by high schoolers - but hey, that's part of what made the night interesting! Being at the game was also very nostalgic for the both of us. I got to reminisce of my marching band days by watching Central's band out there. I imagined Andrew and Rachel being out there since they used to be one of them! :P

We decided to leave the game a little after halftime and go to the Joslyn since it was right next door. However, it was closed, so we headed back to Davis. On the way back we seriously considered going to the Jay since neither one of us had ever gone before and thought it would be funny if we went for the first time that night for some reason - but we didn't have our ID's on us, darn! :S So anyway, Libby asked if I liked dancing and I said "Yes!" and she mentioned there was swing dancing/salsa dancing on Friday nights close by. Since we could only pick one, we chose to do swing dancing - it was SO much fun, I'm so glad I went! Before we headed out we had to pick out the "perfect" swing dancing outfits! :D We were twins with our capris and striped shirts! :P Once we got there I got a little nervous because I don't really know how to swing dance, but I was assured it was "okay!" And plus all the people there were SO nice and helpful! I learned a lot of new moves and met a lot of new, friendly people!

Dancing was from 9-12, so after that we were pretty worn out, so I thought we were just going to go back and go to bed. First of all, parking is horrendous so it took a while to find a decent parking spot once we got back to Davis. Once we did find a spot though, we stayed in the car and listened to music - and ended up falling asleep! - for about an hour! I don't know how safe it was for two girls to do that in the dark alone, but it was fun. We finally decided to get out at around 1 or so and get a snack - a nice healthy salad - yum! We ended up talking for another hour and a half or so about anything and everything until we were so tired we couldn't talk anymore, so we decided it was FINALLY time for bed - at around 3 or so. :P

So...it was a fun, but exhausting night! Libby and I termed last night as "Good Friday!" :P Holy moly that was a long entry, but it was a long night!

Oh and by the way, do you know what is in exactly ONE week from today??? :D

8:42 am - Hello School...
First day of classes! I'm excited but not quite wanting school to start yet at the same time...but oh well, I am going to make the best of it! I wish the first day of school was on a better day though - today looks kind of gloomy - I hope that doesn't signal how the day is going to go. ;) I only have one class today though so today shouldn't be bad for me at all - all M, W, F I just have this one class - yay! Tomorrow though, I have three classes...ick. And don't get me started on Tuesday...I hardly even have time to eat on Tuesdays with my five classes. :( It's a weird schedule, but at least the busiest days are only two days of the week and I have the other three for me time or whatever! :D Well, I'm off to class, wish me luck! ;)

Oh and one more thing...HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY WENDY - I LOVE YOU!!! :D

7:46 pm - Ahhh the memories...
Ahhh...today was a good day! The best part about it was getting to hang out with a couple of my old high school friends before I leave tomorrow (?) to head back to O-Town. Kristina and I have been friends forever it seems like - we share many memories together! One of which includes taking Louis, our "little brother" under our wing in high school (along with our third musketeer, "apologoholic", "charlie's angel" friend, Emily). He has the greatest heart but his life is filled with so much chaos sometimes we just wonder about him! ;)

Emily is always in and out of the picture nowadays sadly (she's always led a crazy and busy life!), so when I come back it's just usually me and Krys. This trip home was extra special though because we both got to reunite with our long lost "brother" whom we have not seen in almost two years! My how he's grown - our little boy is all grown up now (tear). But some things never change. In high school we always joked about how great Louis smelled (I have yet to meet a guy who smells that good!) and always bugged him about what cologne he wore because for some reason he kept it secret. As weird as this may sound, smelling him brought back many memories...ahhh the memories! :D

While we were out I got a call on my cell phone from a number I did not recognize. I usually don't like to answer these calls but I did anyway, and it was good I did too because it was the delivery man from our local florist store telling me that I had flowers to pick up - yay, flowers for me! This could only mean that Andrew sent them (who else would send me flowers?) and wanted to celebrate our one year anniversary - which is officially today! Thanks be to God for blessing us with this beautiful relationship - near or apart.

Well, I am heading back tomorrow probably to start another (my last) year at Creighton. This brings many emotions, excited for the future yet getting used to the new changes, such as being separated from close friends. But know that love and friendsip is stronger than distance...

To all my wonderful friends (especially to those separated by distance)...
"Though miles may lie between us, we're never far apart, for friendship doesn't count the miles, it's measured by the heart."

11:28 am - I'm Sorry...
I'm sorry we must be separated for a while
And for the heartache and pain it brings us
Through all the suffering, across all the miles
All I can do now is think of you and try to force a smile

I'm sorry we can't be there for each other
Sometimes life just doesn't seem fair
I wish we could share the same experiences together
Somehow the phone just doesn't compare

I'm sorry I'm losing touch, feeling more disconnected from you
I fear that the distance may beat us
But we promised each other we would both stay true
And as harder as it seems to get each day, I long to keep my promise to you...

1:52 am - In My Life I Have...

( ) been to Mexico
(x) been on a plane - as of recently I believe I have the right to say that I do NOT like air travel - right now anyways - over the past two weeks I have flown through two thunderstorms with lightning hitting the plane, had been held up in the airport for hours on end, and have had a flight cancellation, among other things... (rolling eyes)
( ) eaten Sushi - yuck!

(x) done something you told yourself you wouldn't - you have never done this Shennen? good will power!
(x) made prank phone calls - guilty ...Actully, funny story - in middle school, my older brother would prank call the boys me and my friends liked for us because we were too chicken to call them ourselves. I don't remember why but he would say "I crave cheese" (?) in his deep voice and then hang up. (Now why we wanted to prank call them rather than actually talk to them is beyond me...middle school "love"...how strange)

9:20 am - No itch...No thunderstorms!
Well, I have to leave for my flight in like half an hour and I still need to put on my pants - wonderful opening, I know. But my legs have this terrible itch that I can't seem to get rid of...arghhh! Anyways, I am about to leave for Los Angeles to meet up with the rest of my family (who is already vacationing there) - it should be fun! I am excited to see them again and to be by the ocean again - I love the beach! As Andrew would say..."there's something about the ocean...and I'm lost in love again..." That goes out to you dear. :) I will also see my great aunt and uncle, whom I have not seen since like I was 14. They are getting older, and we don't know how much longer they are going to be around, so this is important that we go visit them there too. This is going to be a great visit and a great time!

HOWEVER...I just looked at the forecast for today and it said 50% of thunderstorms which does not make me a happy person. I had to fly through a thunderstorm with lightning and all that fun stuff when I came back from North Carolina just last week - not an experience I wish to go through again! I just pray the weather will be nice today, as everybody prepares to fly to their destinations.

Until Sunday, when I come back, adios! :D

8:55 pm - Just Go Away Already!
Ahhh...go away! I had yet another anxiety attack early this afternoon. Usually they tend to occur under stressful situations but sometimes can just pop out of nowhere which is frustrating to say the least. However, with all that has been happening lately and all that has been on my mind, I believe this attack actually had a reason, but was still annoying as heck. :|

However, the good news (and these attacks are NOT good news!) is that this one only lasted about an hour or so. The really bad ones have been known to last all day long...grrr! As hard as it was to focus, I mentally had to challenge myself to "relax" (inhale, exhale), "relax" (inhale, exhale)...and so on and so forth. This goes on until I can calm myself down enough to get a hot washcloth to put over my eyes and try to lie down - with my weird spasms and twitches. Friends who have seen me go through this (I'm sorry you had to put up with it by the way) know what I'm talking about!).

Concentrating on Andrew also was what really helped me to recover I think too. There is just something about his presence which has a natural calming, relaxing factor to me. I guess that is one of the reasons why he is good for me. :D So, thank you Andrew...you're the best and I love you!

This darn attack has not completely subsided quite yet, but I am significantly better than I was. I am at least somewhat coherent now. So if you don't understand this entry, I have an excuse and you understand why. :P But I will just try to keep calming and relaxing myself and concentrate on Andrew and hopefully I can kick this thing's ugly butt away!!!

3:15 pm - First Timer
Well, I have just signed myself up to this livejournal thing, we'll see how it works out. All I need is another method of procrastination! However it is a good way to keep track of friends' lives when they are gone. Sadly, Becky has left today, and I have been trying to keep myself together as to not completely break down. It seems as if I am left alone sometimes. The two closest people to me here are gone now (off to grad school - I still have one more year of undergrad).

This next year will be hard but I also believe that it will be good because it will challenge me to grow, to step outside of my comfort zone. I know God will be faithful to lift me up and give me the strength and courage I need when I am weak, just as He has done many times before. That is what gets me through really - putting my trust in God and knowing everything is in His hands, and what better place for it to be than that?

Out God is faithful!
